“Empowering Your Immune System to Fight Cancer Naturally.”

NK Cell Therapy for Cancer

Natural Killer Cell Immunotherapy

They are called “natural killers” because—unlike T-cells—they don’t need prior exposure to a pathogen to attack it. They act within hours to days, long before the adaptive immune system gears up. NK cells (Natural Killer cells) are like the special forces of our immune system. They can recognize and destroy cancer cells without prior sensitization. Unlike chemo, which can harm healthy cells, NK cells target cancer cells directly.
NK cells have shown promise in immunotherapy, especially for certain types of blood cancers. They're being explored for their potential to provide more targeted and less toxic treatments. Chemo, on the other hand, is a more traditional approach that can be effective but often comes with harsh side effects.

NK cell therapy treatments for cancer is quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing fields in Mexico for medical tourism. More and more international patients are choosing Mexico not just for its affordable care, but also for the advance therapy treatments. At our clinic, Dr. Alma Yolanda Gonzalez Ponce, MD has over 10 year's experience in NK Cell Therapy and 15+ years in regenerative cellular medicine. In all of Mexico, there are only a limited number of clinics offering true NK cell therapy — and expertise matters. Also, the quality of the NK Cells (source) matters, that is why all of our treatments come with a certification of authenticity from one of the country's leading laboratory providers — CBCells.

The Benefits of NK Cell Therapy:

NK cell therapy offers a hopeful, cutting-edge approach for cancer patients by strengthening the body’s natural immune defenses rather than relying solely on traditional treatments. Instead of just targeting symptoms, this advanced therapy works by empowering specialized Natural Killer (NK) cells to recognize and destroy abnormal cancer cells with precision.

Using highly active immune cells, NK cell therapy supports the body in identifying hidden tumor cells, enhancing immune surveillance, and working alongside existing treatments to improve outcomes. For patients seeking an innovative, science-driven strategy, NK cell therapy represents a step forward toward stronger immune resilience and a more proactive fight against cancer.

NK cell therapy developed gradually over several decades:

  • 1975 – Natural Killer (NK) cells were first discovered as a unique type of immune cell capable of killing tumor cells without prior sensitization.

  • 1980s–1990s – Researchers began experimenting with activating and expanding NK cells in the lab for therapeutic use.

  • Early 2000s – The first clinical trials using NK cell infusions for cancer patients were conducted.

  • 2010s–present – Major advances in cell expansion, donor-derived (“off-the-shelf”) NK cells, and engineered NK therapies (including CAR-NK) significantly accelerated development.

So while NK cells were discovered in the 1970s, modern NK cell therapy as we know it today has primarily evolved over the past 15–20 years. This isn’t experimental hype — it’s decades of research and clinical advancement.

Common Cancers treated with NK Cells

These cancers are the most responsive because NK cells circulate easily in the bloodstream and bone marrow.

"THIS. THIS right here I stand witness. we should all be seeking this as a viable option instead of chemo which we all know will destroy are reg. cells. I am so sad, that in one of the richest countries it is not offered here. a proven method, we are all about the money here. there are better choices out there, this is one of the best, we chose this and are better for it. this has served us well."

Is NK Cell Therapy Safe?

Yes. Engineered NK cells have shown a strong safety record in clinical studies. Most patients experience only mild, short-term side effects like fever or fatigue, and unlike some other immune therapies, they do not cause graft-versus-host disease. Current evidence suggests they are well tolerated. Side effects that may be seen include a low grade fever, dizziness, chills, or headache. These typically resolve quickly.

How do I know NK cells will work for me?

NK cell therapy has shown promising results in clinical trials, but effectiveness can vary depending on the type of cancer, the patient’s health, and the treatment protocol.
Trials in blood cancers (like leukemia and lymphoma) report encouraging responses, while solid tumor results are more modest but improving with engineered NK cells (CAR‑NK, IL‑15 enhanced).

How much does NK Cell therapy cost?

United States: NK cell therapy is still mostly in clinical trials, so costs are not standardized. When available, prices can reach tens of thousands of dollars per treatment cycle.

Mexico (Tijuana, Baja California): Clinics offering NK cell immunotherapy advertise it as more affordable than in the U.S., with prices often ranging from $8,000–$17,500 per cycle, depending on the protocol and supportive therapies included. Other countries (medical tourism): Costs abroad estimates generally fall between $10,000–$20,000 per cycle.
